Signing Ceremony at COP11

Quito, 5 November 2014 –At a ceremony held in the margins of the CMS COP11 in Quito, three countries signed CMS MOUs.  Susanne Viker signed the Sharks MOU on behalf of Sweden (and Samoa follow in the coming days).  Libuse Vlasakova and Reinhard Schnidrig signed the Raptors MOU on behalf of the Czech Republic and Switzerland respectively.

CMS Executive Secretary, Bradnee Chambers countersigned the Partnership Agreement extending the arrangements under which CMS Office - Abu Dhabi Office was established.  Ms Razan Al Mubarak, Secretary General of the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) had signed the Agreement earlier in the day in Abu Dhabi. Joining the Executive Secretary to witness the event were Mr Ahmed Al-Hashmi representing the Ministry of Environment and Water of the United Arab Emirates and Mr Lyle Glowka, Executive Coordinator of CMS Office - Abu Dhabi.

Finally, CMS and the Humane Society International concluded an agreement by which cooperation between the two organizations on a range of conservation issues will be conducted.  Rebecca Regnery signed for HSI and Bradnee Chambers for CMS.
